🎶 *MITA SHRUTA RAGA – A Musical Journey into Rare Hindustani Classical Ragas* 🎶
What happens when passionate Hindustani classical music lovers come together to explore ragas that are rarely heard on the concert stage?
*MITA SHRUTA RAGA* is a thoughtfully curated musical initiative created to encourage and inspire dedicated lovers of Hindustani classical music, especially those who have developed a deep appreciation for the richness, depth and diversity of Indian classical ragas.
🌿 THE CONCEPT BEHIND MITA SHRUTA RAGA
Across the world, numerous baithaks, mehfils, classical music programmes and concerts celebrate the timeless tradition of Indian classical music. Yet, audiences often find themselves listening to a familiar repertoire of well-known ragas.
With MITA SHRUTA RAGA, we wanted to explore a different musical path — bringing lesser-heard ragas to the attention of discerning listeners and encouraging audiences to discover the beauty of compositions and melodic landscapes that are not commonly featured in mainstream classical concerts.
In this special presentation, we explored the following ragas:
🎵 Salag Varali
🎵 Bhavani
🎵 Bhupeshwari
🎵 Tilak Shyam
These performances were presented with the intention of enriching the listening experience of seasoned classical music enthusiasts and curious listeners alike.
We were delighted and deeply encouraged by the wonderful response from the audience — many of whom are true *kaansens*, listeners with a refined ear and a profound appreciation for Hindustani classical music.
🥁 ACCOMPANIMENT & ARTISTS
The concert featured the talented Areen Talwalkar on tabla. Areen is the grandson of Taal Yogi Pandit Suresh Talwalkar and the son of Sayleeji and Satyajeetji.
The musical presentation was enriched by the accompaniment of:
• Areen Talwalkar – Tabla
• Shri Gurshant Singh – Harmonium
• Shri Sudhanshu Gharpure – Harmonium
• Mrudula Katdare – Tanpura
The concert was anchored by Keshavji Paranjpe.
🙏 OUR SINCERE THANKS
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Swatantryaveer Savarkar Seva Kendra, Vile Parle, for providing the platform and support for this musical initiative.
Our sincere thanks also go to all the artists, organisers and, most importantly, the discerning audience whose encouragement makes explorations into lesser-heard ragas so meaningful.
