The Supreme Court has directed the Election Commission of India (ECI) to decide the ongoing TMC name and election symbol dispute within three months. The court has given both factions four weeks to submit their pleadings and documents before the Election Commission. The dispute involves the All India Trinamool Congress name and the Jora Phool (Flowers and Grass) election symbol. The Supreme Court has not decided which faction has the stronger claim; the final decision will be taken by the Election Commission after hearing both sides.
