Welcome to a misty winter pilgrimage through Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland 🇨🇭❄️—the legendary “Valley of 72 Waterfalls” said to have inspired J.R.R. Tolkien’s vision of Rivendell. This cinematic travel vlog begins with a fog-wrapped train ride from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen, where frost patterns on the windows blur the Alps into soft, moving paintings. 🚆🌫️
Arriving in the quiet village, we follow the valley on foot—past timber chalets, snow-laden meadows, and icicle-draped cliffs—toward the famous Staubbach Falls, where water tumbles (or freezes) beside the village church. We linger beneath the drizzle of the waterfall, listen to distant church bells, and let the silence of an empty winter morning settle around us. The fog rolls between the towering rock walls, and intermittent rain makes the paths heavy with slush, so we board a bus through the valley to travel safely. 🚌💨
Many of the 72 waterfalls sleep in winter—some reduced to slender silver threads, others locked in ice. But the valley itself feels magical: a secret, Tolkien-esque world hidden beneath grey clouds, with only the sound of water, bells, and our footsteps. We promise ourselves a summer return to witness all 72 in full flow. 🌊❄️✨
