1920s jazz and blues for a rainy night on the rooftop: three hours of slow, smoky, vintage records from 1920–1925, played like a distant radio in the rain, with soft rain over an art-deco skyline. Put it on for studying, working, reading or falling asleep. 🎙️ About the music These are original 78rpm records cut in New York, Chicago and other studios between 1920 and 1925, the years when jazz first reached records: slow blues from singers like Ida Cox, Lucille Hegamin and Edith Wilson, plus hotel dance orchestras and early hot-jazz bands. For the late-night mood, every track has been slowed down and filtered so it sounds like an old radio playing in the next room. The crackle is the real sound of the shellac discs. 🕰️ Tracklist 0:00:00 Swanee River Moon – Lane & Dale's Marimba Band (1922) 0:03:39 Dreaming Blues – Joseph Samuels' Jazz Band (1920) 0:07:26 Unknown Blues – Fletcher Henderson (1921) 0:10:28 Royal Garden Blues – Noble Sissle and His Sizzling Syncopators (1921) 0:13:34 Broken-Hearted Blues – Al Bernard (1922) 0:18:45 Jeannine, I Dream Of Lilac Time – Frank Ferera's Trio (1922) 0:21:52 Mexican Blues – Leona Williams (1922) 0:25:47 Bye Bye Blues – Fred Hamm Orchestra (1925) 0:29:44 All Alone / At the End of a Winding Lane – Carl Fenton’s Orchestra (1925) 0:33:23 Got the Railroad Blues (But I Haven't Got the Railroad Fare) – Gene Austin (1925) 0:37:25 Forgetful Blues – Benson Orchestra of Chicago (1923) 0:40:56 Calm as the Night – John McCormack & Fritz Kreisler (1920) 0:43:48 I've Got the Blues for My Old Kentucky Home – Harmonizer's Quartet (1921) 0:47:24 Sobbin' Blues – Art Kahn Orchestra (1923) 0:50:57 Weary Way Blues – Ida Cox (1923) 0:54:22 Everybody's Blues – Lucille Hegamin (1920) 0:57:43 Red Jacket Blues – Harold Leonard and His Red Jackets (1922) 1:00:49 Left All Alone Again Blues – Marion Harris (1920) 1:04:18 Moon River – Bar Harbor Society Orchestra (1922) 1:07:59 Graveyard Dream Blues – Ida Cox (1923) 1:11:35 The Serenaders' Red Moon – The Serenaders (1922) 1:15:49 Aunt Hagar's Blues – Sam Lanin's Orchestra (1921) 1:20:07 Struttin Blues – Leona Williams (1922) 1:23:20 A Bunch of Blues – The Original Memphis Five (1923) 1:27:52 Sobbin' Blues – Albert E.
