കണ്ണൂര്‍ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വിമാനത്താവളത്തിന്റെ സമഗ്രവികസനം ഒരു വര്‍ഷത്തിനകം നടപ്പിലാക്കുമെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി വി.ഡി. സതീശന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. വിമാനത്താവളത്തില്‍ പുതുതായി ആരംഭിച്ച അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര എയര്‍ കാര്‍ഗോ കോംപ്ലക്സ്, 4 മെഗാവാട്ട് സോളാര്‍ പവര്‍ പ്രോജക്ട് എന്നിവയുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടന ചടങ്ങിലാണ് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ പ്രഖ്യാപനം. സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ജി.ഡി.പിക്ക് മുതല്‍ക്കൂട്ടാവുന്ന രീതിയില്‍ കണ്ണൂര്‍ എയര്‍പോര്‍ട്ട് ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ വിമാനത്താവളങ്ങളെ ഏവിയേഷന്‍ ഹബ്ബാക്കി മാറ്റുന്നതിനുള്ള സുപ്രധാന തീരുമാനങ്ങള്‍ സംസ്ഥാന സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ കൈക്കൊണ്ടതായും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan said that the comprehensive development of Kannur International Airport will be implemented within a year. He made the announcement at the inauguration of the newly launched International Air Cargo Complex and the 4 MW solar power project at the airport. He also said that the state government has taken significant decisions to transform airports across Kerala, including Kannur Airport, into aviation hubs in a way that contributes to the state’s GDP.
