In this video, I test the IR2153 self-oscillating half-bridge driver IC, which I pulled from a Markbass Little Mark Tube 800 bass amplifier. Using my oscilloscope, I probe the IC to see if it's still alive. As you can see on the scope, the oscillator is running perfectly, producing a clean 66.7 kHz square wave. The yellow trace shows the oscillator output, while the blue trace shows the high-side gate drive signal. This confirms the IR2153 chip itself is functioning correctly and isn't the source of the fault in the amp. If you're troubleshooting a Markbass amp or any SMPS using the IR2153, this is a quick way to verify the IC is working before replacing it. 🔧 What I used: · IR2153 Half-Bridge Driver IC · Breadboard & components (resistor, capacitor) · Digital Oscilloscope (2-channel) ⏱️ Timestamps: 0:00 - Intro & The Markbass Amp 0:15 - IR2153 Breadboard Setup 0:30 - Oscilloscope Probing 0:45 - Reading the kHz Waveform 1:00 - Conclusion: Is the chip good? 💬 Join the discussion: Have you worked on a Markbass Little Mark Tube 800 before?
