I Couldn't Sleep… So I Went Fishing

Back down the lake for another 36 hours of carp fishing. The plan was to head down first thing in the morning, but I couldn't sleep. By 12:30am I'd had enough of lying there thinking about it, so I snuck out of the house and headed for the lake. The rods were out in the darkness and, before the sun had even come up, the effort had already paid off. I stayed for another night, battling the heat, swimmers, sunbathers and everything else that comes with summer fishing on a busy public lake. Eventually, I was rewarded with a proper old carp — exactly the sort of fish I go fishing for. Sometimes you've just got to listen to that instinct and get down the lake. Effort equals reward.
