ToeFlex Foot Testimonial

Currently, on an MPK, her previous foot had torsion vertical shock and she felt that she had to work more of her hip extensors during walking. Now with the ToeFlex, she notices that the hip flexors have quieted down. When she first wore the ToeFlex, she felt that she was going back to her real foot due to the ankle movement, the rollover, and utilizing her hip motion. Before, she was working more to walk over the foot. Now with the ToeFlex, she felt more relaxed, and this has helped with her phantom sensations to be more relaxed while walking. She did not notice any difference as far as weight (any more or any less) She felt that with her previous foot, she was loading the toe and had to vault over it, so she would walk with her sound foot more tensed up and rigid. She said she noticed that her walking felt off in timing due to this. The ToeFlex and her MPK needed to be adjusted. This is more due to the lack of a spiking toe load of a rigid composite toe for toe load. Since the toes flex on the ToeFlex, she noticed that initially, she needed to stay on the toe longer and initiate more hip extension to reach the swing phase criteria with toe load, anterior acceleration, and knee extension. After the adjustments, she felt that her walking improved. She was able to acclimate over a period of about 2 days to a week, and that her symmetry improved, was more relaxed, and felt more normal as she spent more time getting used to the ToeFlex. Her previous foot was very similar to other similar made feet, so it didn’t take so long to get used to that style of the foot, and for the most part, felt the same. The ToeFlex however created such a different feeling in how it worked that it took a little longer to get used to it. She notes the relief she felt as she got more used to the ToeFlex – more relaxed. The ToeFlex allows her to walk better on uneven ground by it compensating with the toes. It's easier to pivot and turn on the ToeFlex, versus her other foot which would let the knee bend (go into swing sometimes).
