The Importance of Teaching Philosophy to Children | Sundar Sarukkai | TEDxIISERPune

Dr. Sundar Sarukkai talks about why it is imperative to include philosophical education in the traditional classroom. Dr. Sundar Sarkkai is a visiting faculty at the Center for Society and policy, IISc Bangalore, and was previously the professor of philosophy at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore. He pursued his Ph.D. from Purdue University, USA, and works primarily in the philosophy of the natural and social sciences. He is a prominent Indian philosopher who has worked in premier institutions and has given several talks on many diverse topics. He also is the founder of the Barefoot Philosophers initiative and has a forthcoming book on “Philosophy for Children”. His talents do not limit to oration, as he has authored many books; Philosophy of Symmetry, Indian Philosophy, and Philosophy of Science, What is Science? and many more.
