According to their fictional history, the three musicians met while studying electrical engineering and formed SFX in 1967. The group eventually established itself by creating cinematic instrumental electronic music that combined synthesizers, electronic textures, and futuristic themes. High Performance is imagined as the group's fourth studio album, released in 1979 and recorded using only sounds from the Moog Prodigy.
