P42DC 199 (2:06): CSX M410 rolls through Ashland with some CP and KCS foreign power in tow! This was one of the trains I came out for. CSX ES44AH 749 CP ES44AC 8772 KCS ES44AC 4801 (5:24): The boarding announcement for Amtrak P094, then said train arrives and departs. ALC-42 303 (7:59): CSX L251 pulls off the hot dog track and reverses back into the yard. GP38-2 2658 (ex-SBD 2658/SBD/AWP 6007) GP40-2 6932 (ex-CSX 6259/WM 4360) (9:59): Amtrak P092 speeds by Collier faster than a Bullet Bill. P42DC 179 ALC-42 305 (11:06): CSX M419 very slowly creeps around the corner as it rolls into Collier Yard. At 18:46, it gets into a meet with Amtrak P080, mostly obstructed. On the way to Ashland this morning, I got stopped by it at Hunton (I didn't get there in time to catch the power). And the report on this train mentioned that the lead unit was having PTC trouble, so it may or may not have the same power when it gets to Richmond. Thankfully, 52 was left on point. CSX M419 AC4400CW 52 ES40DC 5478 Amtrak P080 P42DC 59 (29:59): CSX M410 pulled up to Collier to do yard work with a YN3 AC4400CW leading. They had GP40-3 #6538 in the mix initially, but it got dropped off somewhere in NC enroute. AC4400CW 430 SD70MAC 4546 (34:48): CSX M410 pulls forward beyond the yard lead and reverses into the yard to start its work. (40:23): Amtrak P138 speeds by Grimes Road after entering the North End Sub at B.X. P42DC 204 (41:04): The CSX M410 switching saga continues. The conductor was really cool too. (45:42): CSX L229 pulls up the North End of Collier and reverses in. L229 was given priority over M410 to reverse into the yard, as they had to get him off the mainline before I031 came by. ES40DC 5354 CM44AH 7234 (ex-AC4400CW 295) (55:37): CSX I031 passes by, half obstructed, while M410 reverses into Collier. I031 today was shorter and slower. ET44AH 3339 ET44AH 3367 (58:28): M410 continues to reverse. (59:33): NS 276 rolls by Collier. AC44C6M 4722 (Can't find any info on which Dash 9 it was rebuilt from) AC44C6M 4727 (ex-C44-9W 9535) AC44C6M 4318 (ex-C44-9W 9211) (1:02:21): CSX M410's power sitting at the North End. (1:03:16): CSX M410, finally finished with its work, continues North by the B.X. signals. AC4400CW 430 SD70MAC 4546 (1:08:27): NS 825 WB when the rain starts pouring. It's funny that it started raining, because earlier, M410's conductor said he was glad it wasn't raining. At least he got back in his dry cab in time. AC44C6M 4192 (ex-C44-9W 8913) AC44C6M 4038 (ex-C40-9 8819) (1:10:11): Amtrak P089 SB. P42DC 37 (1:10:24): NS V62 reverses out of Collier back toward the NS line (I missed when V62 pulled into the yard, but it might have been when I was out catching M410), and Amtrak P079 and P090 roll by. NS V62 AC44C6M 4686 (ex-C44-9W 9396) SD70ACe 1053 Amtrak P079 ALC-42 326 Amtrak P090 ALC-42 371 (1:17:16): NS V62 rolls under Collier. Sorry, I had to use my hat to cover the camera from rain. AC44C6M 4686 (ex-C44-9W 9396) SD70ACe 1053 (1:18:33): Amtrak P095 switches to the NS Norfolk District at B.X. ALC-42 335 (1:19:06): Later after getting dinner from Arby's, Amtrak P053 speeds by Carson. ALC-42 360 ALC-42 364 (1:20:19): CSX M415 SB. ES44AH 896 ES40DC 5458 (mid-DPU) CM44AH 7314 (mid-DPU, ex-AC4400CW 302) (1:27:48): A CSX hi-rail rolls by Collier. (1:29:50): In the distance, CSX ES40DC 5362 is at the South End of Collier, and CSX L229's engines can be seen as power move reversing to tie down. (1:30:12): NS 827 rolls by Collier at dusk with two Horsehead Dash 9s for power! C44-9W 9962 C44-9W 9886 (1:32:03): CSX ES40DC 5362, running light, moves out of the yard, and back in. (1:34:13): Another CSX hi-rail goes by, this time headed South. (1:34:29): Phone clips of a couple semi trucks (one being the Mack fuel truck) at Collier and Carson.
