Job Interview English: Tell me About Yourself, English Conversation Practice from applying online to your first day at work, in simple American English (A1-A2).
Do job interviews in English make you nervous? You are not alone. In this video, John and Emily follow one complete job search in the USA, step by step, so you can hear the exact words you need at every stage.
The story starts with a job ad that closes tonight. John and Emily check a resume, understand an online form, and send the application. Then a recruiter calls, the phone signal drops, and John asks her to speak slowly. You will hear how to ask politely when you do not understand something.
Next comes interview day. John finds the office, fixes a spelling mistake on the guest list, and answers common questions: tell me about yourself, strengths and weaknesses, past work experience, overtime, and salary. You will also hear what to say when a question is hard, or when your phone rings at the wrong moment.
After the interview, you will learn how to ask about next steps, write a short thank-you email, follow up when nobody replies, understand an offer by phone, choose a start date, and ask what "orientation" means before your first day.
This video is for adult English learners at A1-A2 level (and easy B1) who want to speak clearly at work in the USA. Every conversation is short, natural, and uses simple American English. Turn on the subtitles, pause after each line, and say the sentences out loud with John and Emily.
Each situation has a title card and a key phrase, so you can find the part you need. Use the chapters in this description to jump to your favorite situation: resume help, phone screen, interview questions, salary, thank-you email, or the offer call.

Question for you: which interview question is the hardest for you, "Tell me about yourself" or "What are your strengths?" Write your answer in English in the comments, and we will help you make it better.
