Some people disappear. Some leave behind questions that remain unanswered for decades.
In this episode of Vanished Here, we travel across New Jersey to examine 12 mysterious disappearances spanning more than half a century — cases involving children, adults, ordinary days that suddenly turned extraordinary, and families still searching for answers.
From William Ebeneezer Jones Jr., who disappeared from Vineland in 1962, to Dulce Maria Alavez, who vanished from a Bridgeton park in 2019, these are stories that continue to haunt communities throughout the Garden State.
Chapters:
Case One: Dulce Maria Alavez
Bridgeton, New Jersey. Monday, September 16, 2019. Late afternoon, the kind of warm early-fall day where nobody's thinking twice about being outside.
Case Two: Meaghan McCallum
Bergen County, 2015. This one starts quiet, almost domestic, and ends with a parking garage security camera capturing the very last few seconds anyone has ever seen of her.
Case Three: Susan Walsh
This one has vampires in it. I promise I'm not exaggerating for effect — that's genuinely, factually part of the case file.
Case Four: Margaret Ellen Fox
This one is from 1974 — before cell phones, before instant photo sharing, before Amber Alerts even existed as a concept.
Case Five: William Ebeneezer Jones Jr.
Vineland, New Jersey. December 17, 1962. This is the oldest case on tonight's list, and it's a difficult one, because the victim was three and a half years old.
Case Six: Mark Himebaugh
Del Haven, Cape May County. November 25, 1991. This case involves a brush fire that had nothing directly to do with the disappearance — and everything to do with why nobody was watching closely enough to see it happen.
Case Seven: Brandon Keith Robbins
North Wildwood, 1982. This is the case that starts off looking almost explainable — and then just curdles the longer you actually sit with it.
Case Eight: John T. Weisbecker
Ocean City, New Jersey. March 11, 2009. This is the one where investigators have been the most blunt, publicly, about what they believe actually happened.
Case Nine: Isabella Mia Pastrana
This is the hardest one tonight, and I want to be upfront about that — it involves an infant, and it ends in a place with absolutely no resolution at all.
Case Ten: Renee Martine LaManna
This might be the most haunting case of all — not because of what might have happened to her, but because of what almost certainly didn't happen the way you'd expect.
Case Eleven: Allen Carl Warner
North Wildwood, 1973. This one gives you an actual physical clue — a boat, drifting empty two miles off the coast — and somehow that makes the case more confusing, not less.
Case Twelve: Barnett Zeldin
The most recent case on tonight's list — and it takes place somewhere that feels almost like the opposite of everywhere else we've talked about tonight: not a park, not a boardwalk, but real, dense, empty wilderness.
These stories are presented with respect for the missing and their families. The purpose of Vanished Here is not to sensationalize their disappearances, but to remember the people behind the cases and examine the questions that remain.
