Dreamcast GDEMU / Power Supply Troubleshoot Follow-up

This Dreamcast was stored away in a humid environment for many years. Exposed to humidity and moisture, the area around the Power Supply socket built up corrosion, which gradually ate away at the plating on the motherboard's plug pins - interfering with conductivity and creating several problems with I/O from its GDEMU. While cleaning the pins with isopropyl alcohol, q-tips, a toothbrush, and toothpicks should fix the problem for a little while, alcohol is somewhat of a double-edged sword. It's capable of cleaning up corrosion, but it can also strip away more enamel and accelerate oxidization and corrosion on the raw metal. Just as a thin coating of oil helps to protects steels from rusting, I'm inclined to believe that a coating of dielectric grease will go a long way towards protecting the pins from the elements and oxidization. Dielectric grease is a popular choice for protecting car and boat electronics. It's very affordable and easy to find. Your local hardware store or auto store probably has it in stock.
