Das Ich Live in San Francisco Bay Area | May 2026

Who can add fun to funerals and German existentialism? Das Ich band. A backbone of Neue Deutsche Todeskunst, Das Ich has been blending gothic darkwave styles with German philosophical texts and a highly theatrical performance since the late 80s. I couldn’t miss this treat in the Bay Area, and went to not only one, but both of their live shows. And, a yummy treat it was. Ingredients: Lyrics: philosophical, yet deeply human Music: energy-boosting and life-inducing Live shows: a mix of physical and emotional workout The band started both shows with Lazarus from their newest album Fanal, offered a great variety of compositions, and of course blessed us all with classics like Uterus, Kain Und Abel, and Kannibale. Live interactions with the audience were on a whole other level.
