Can you believe in Jesus and still unknowingly mix your faith with beliefs that don't come from Him? Syncretism isn't always obvious. Sometimes we can continue using Christian language, quoting Scripture, and professing Christ while allowing ideas that are contrary to Scripture to influence what we believe and practice. 📖 Colossians 2:8 warns believers not to be taken captive by philosophy and empty deceit according to human tradition rather than Christ. This teaching challenges us to examine our faith carefully: Where did I get this belief? Can I support it with Scripture in context? Is this biblical—or have I mixed something with the faith? 🚨 DISCIPLESHIP CHECK: We aren't called to make God's Word fit our beliefs. Our beliefs must come into alignment with God's Word.
