Railfanning the CPKC, Amtrak, and Metra Milwaukee North Rondout, IL 09/25/26 w/ METX 405 & GP23ECO

On my way up to Wisconsin, I stopped at a spot that I hadn't been to in almost 9 years. Rondout is where the Metra Milwaukee North District splits off the CPKC main plus the junction of the CN line to Waukegan just south of IL Route 176. The action was pretty steady with numerous Metras and Amtraks plus three CPKC freights and a surprise Metra work train with a GP23ECO. A Westbound CPKC mixed manifest had 3 narrow cabs behind the lead KCS ES44AC plus an inbound Metra Milwaukee North had METX 505 (Milwaukee Road) as the power. For the first portion I viewed the action from the North Shore bike path bridge parallel to Route 176 and would view from ground level for the second half.
