Welcome to a unique lure making project where I build a massive heavy-duty spinner using solid oak burl and brass. If you want to know how to make a fishing lure that casts far and runs deep, this 1.97 oz (46g) build is exactly what you need. I started by drilling a solid piece of knotted oak burl, weighting the inside for deep water, and shaping it into a barrel core. To make this handmade fishing lure perfectly waterproof and durable, I soaked the wood in hot epoxy and soldered brass caps to the ends. For the blades, I actually carved a custom punch tool out of the leftover oak burl to stamp 1mm thick brass. I shaped two large 1.5-inch (40mm) Colorado blades and hammered a deep texture into them. In the water, these cupped, textured blades create intense cavitation and heavy turbulence that predatory fish sense from a distance. Building custom fishing lures from raw wood and metal allows you to engineer the exact vibration and weight you need. Watch the full machining, weighting, and stamping process of this premium heavy spinner! Weight: 1.97 oz (46 g) | Blade Size: 1.5 inches (40 mm) 👇 Check out my handmade lures right here: 👉 http://copperfishlure.etsy.com #luremaking #metalcraft #inline_spinner #woodworking #diyfishinglures
