Waking up to a view like this, it is hard to believe how different I felt just 24 hours ago. A few days of rest in Pagosa Springs, and I was ready to face the mountains again. Part of me was still disappointed about bailing out, but the snow is still up there, and sooner or later I have to go back and meet it. This is day 105 and 106 of my walk from Canada to Mexico. Back on the trail at Wolf Creek Pass, a reunion with Golf Ball after a week apart, a freezing night where everything turned to ice, coffee with a view I called the Starbucks mountain lodge, and a careful drop down to the lower route at Elwood Pass to stay out of the snow. New Mexico is only a few days ahead now. I am walking more than 3,000 miles (5,000 km) from Canada to Mexico, through Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. It is my third of the Triple Crown after the Appalachian Trail and the PCT, and so far it is the toughest. Subscribe and come along for the rest of the walk.
