Balligavi, located in Shivamogga district, Karnataka, is an ancient town known for its rich Kadamba and Western Chalukya architectural heritage. Often called Dakshina Kedara or Balagame, it was a major center of learning (agrahara) in the 11th-12th centuries and is famous for the intricate Kedareshwara and Tripurantaka temples.
