A hundred sons. Five brothers. One throne. And a war that no one could stop.
This is the entire story of the Mahabharata, the longest epic in the world: Bhishma's vow, the dice game, Draupadi's question, the eighteen days at Kurukshetra, Krishna's Gita, and the end of the Pandavas.
A NOTE ON HOW THIS STORY IS TOLD
Many people hold the Mahabharata as sacred. This video tells the story the way the epic tells it, and keeps short notes on what scholars say (when it was composed, what is known about the war, and where popular retellings differ from the Sanskrit text). It is an overview, so some episodes are shortened or left out. Deep dives on individual characters will follow.
