Osprey Eja 48 review after 850 km on the GR11 across the Pyrenees: the framed, lightweight women's backpack I carried from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.

After hiking many trails with a backpack borrowed here and there, I invested in the Osprey Eja before my longest hike yet. You can only really know if a backpack is good for you once you have walked with it for quite a while, right? It's like fitting shoes in the shoe store. The Eja weighs about 1.2 kilos, and taking off the lid saved me another 123 g (and saved me from putting all sorts of things more in the backpack). My base weight was between 6 and 7 kilos, and on the part I hiked with Wingo I carried many kilos of dog food for him, which made me super grateful for the strong hip belt. The one downside for me is that I can't wear my favourite adventure hat, as it touches the backpack.
I carry the 48. The Eja also comes in 38 and 58 litres, and the 48 is perfect for a hike like this with all sorts of weather when you don't need to carry mountaineering equipment. There are two back sizes, S/M and M/L. I was right in the middle, went for the bigger one, and it ended up working well. It's made from recycled materials and is PFC-free, and I'm not sponsored by Osprey. I just love the backpack.
