Open Standards and their Impact in South Africa and across the Continent – Stuart Macgregor

Over three decades, The Open Group standards have helped organisations connect enterprise architecture with business priorities and technology governance. This 30th Anniversary presentation traces how TOGAF® took root in South Africa: through a practitioner community and the EA Forum, the Government-Wide Enterprise Architecture framework, alignment with COBIT®, and the EMMM™ Forum. Drawing on historical milestones and certification figures across Africa, it reflects on the progress made and on how enterprise architecture must deliver business outcomes as organisations respond to digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
