The Weight (2026) starring Ethan Hawke - GO SEE THIS MOVIE ASAP

Special episode this week — I caught The Weight in theaters over the weekend, a Sundance standout that just hit wide release, no clips, just me breaking down what worked, what didn't, and whether it lives up to its festival buzz. This week: The Weight (2026). Set in 1930s Oregon, the film follows Samuel Murphy, a widowed man imprisoned and separated from his daughter, who's offered a shot at freedom through a dangerous gold-smuggling operation run by the prison warden. Directed by Padraic McKinley and led by Ethan Hawke and Russell Crowe, it premiered at Sundance back in January before this wider theatrical rollout. New episode every week. Let me know in the comments if you caught The Weight in theaters, or if this is the first you're hearing of it.
