This was my last night in Dingle, Ireland—and my last night with the McNeela Blondewood mandolin. I'd borrowed this beautiful mandolin from McNeela Music for a few weeks while traveling around Ireland, and the next day I would be heading back to Dublin to return it to the shop. After spending so much time playing it, I was genuinely sad to give it back. I'd previously recorded a few videos with the mandolin outdoors and in less controlled environments, but this time I sat down in the quiet of my B&B room. The result is, I think, a much better opportunity to hear what this mandolin actually sounds like. My overall impression? It looks beautiful, was exceptionally well set up, played easily, and has a great sound. For this final performance, I chose one of my favorite tunes and one I've played on the channel before: The Drunken Sailor, a hornpipe. Thanks for listening—and thanks to McNeela Music for letting me spend a few weeks with this wonderful instrument. 🎵 Tune: The Drunken Sailor (hornpipe) 🎻 Instrument: ‪@mcneelamusic‬ Blondewood Mandolin 📍 Recorded: Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland
