In this session with lots of live coding, we'll demystify compilers by building one from scratch! Our compiler will support a simple, dynamic language with basic math and variables. You'll learn about the different phases of a compiler (lexing/parsing/compiling) and how they build on each other. Finally, we'll bring our language to life by building a runtime that executes our compiled bytecode. After this session, you'll have a clear understanding how compilers are structured and how to start writing your own!
