Can you score 20/20? Test your knowledge of Muslim scholars whose ideas contributed to the development of mathematics, astronomy, science and scientific thinking. During the Islamic Golden Age and related periods of intellectual development, scholars working across the Muslim world made important contributions to fields including mathematics, algebra, geometry, astronomy, optics, measurement and scientific inquiry. Their works became part of the broader historical development of knowledge across civilizations. This interactive educational quiz contains 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) designed to help students learn about these scholars, recognize their major contributions and connect important mathematical and scientific ideas with their historical development. How the Quiz Works Each question contains four possible answers. Read the question carefully, select your answer before it is revealed, and then check whether you were correct. Where additional context is useful, a brief explanation is provided. Keep track of your answers and find your final score out of 20. How Did You Score? 🌟 18–20: Outstanding! — Excellent knowledge 👏 15–17: Very Good! 👍 11–14: Good — you know many of the important contributions 📚 7–10: Keep learning — revisit some of the scholars and their work 💡 0–6: Watch our documentary on Muslim scholars and then attempt the quiz again! Why This Quiz? The history of mathematics and science is a shared human intellectual journey across civilizations. Understanding the contributions of Muslim scholars helps students see how ideas developed, travelled and influenced later generations. This quiz is suitable for school, college and university students, teachers, mathematics enthusiasts, and anyone interested in the history of mathematics and science. It also complements topics covered in Quantitative Reasoning-I (QR-I) and can be used as an interactive classroom activity, revision exercise or self-assessment.
