In this video, we play a calming jazz ballad version of “Gusty Garden Galaxy” from the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack, composed by Mahito Yokota. This arrangement takes the original theme and reimagines it through a warm jazz piano language, using a few reharmonizations, soft ballad voicings, lyrical phrasing, and a relaxed rubato-inspired feel. The melody from Gusty Garden Galaxy already has a beautiful floating quality, which makes it a perfect fit for this kind of calming jazz piano treatment. The goal is not to overcomplicate the theme, but to bring out its emotional character with richer harmony and expressive jazz ballad colors.
