Painting a Garden I Found in Pontefract | Acrylic Landscape Painting

Episode 9 of Painting This. Thinking That. This painting was inspired by a beautiful garden I unexpectedly came across while I was in Pontefract. I wasn’t looking for it or planning to paint anything that day, but the flowers, greenery and peaceful little scene stayed with me enough to eventually become a page in my sketchbook. In this video, I’m painting the scene with acrylics from start to finish, simplifying the landscape and trying to capture the feeling of the garden rather than recreating every tiny detail.
