Chronic stress doesn't always look like falling apart. Sometimes it looks like functioning remarkably well—for years—while your body quietly carries the load.
In this episode of The Signals Room, we explore what can happen when stress becomes chronic and the nervous system spends too much time adapting to demands without enough opportunity for recovery.
Fatigue. Poor sleep. Brain fog. Feeling wired but tired. Irritability. Changes in energy and resilience. These can have many causes, but they're also signals worth paying attention to rather than automatically dismissing as weakness or “just getting older.”
We'll look at the connection between chronic stress, the nervous system, burnout, fatigue, recovery, and resilience—and why being able to keep going doesn't necessarily mean the body isn't paying a price.
Sometimes the people who appear strongest are the ones who have become exceptionally good at overriding their own signals.
If you've ever wondered why you're exhausted even though you're still managing to do everything that needs to be done, this conversation is for you.
