Glasgow surburban action at Motherwell, AL/WCML, 9/4/26!

Motherwell is my 1st Scottish destination as part of my 5 day trainspotting trip to Newcastle and Scotland in April, I came here for an hours trainspotting after arriving into Edinburgh on Lumo, and before heading into Glasgow. Motherwell is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland about 15 miles south east of Glasgow City Centre. The towns station is on the West Coast Mainline, seeing services from Avanti West Coast and TransPennine Express mostly, although early in the morning and late at night CrossCountry and Caledonian Sleeper use the station. Motherwell is also on the Argyle Line, seeing services provided by ScotRail through to Dalmuir via Glasgow Central Low Level and also to Cumbernauld via Whifflet and Coatbridge Central. Class 318s and Class 320s are used on those services. ScotRail provide services to Glasgow Central High Level using Class 385 EMU's, starting from Lanark or Edinburgh, they also provide services to there from Glasgow. Overall, Motherwell is a nice spot for a quick bit of Scottish trainspotting!
