Haley & David’s Wedding!

I went to the Black Sheep Shelter in the South Haven area to meet Haley and David for their wedding. The weather was difficult, with light rain coming and going all day, but this also provided special chances to take fun clouds pictures and wet-looking photos with interesting reflections. We began with the getting-ready photos, followed by the first looks with his parents and her father. It rained during the wedding party photos, so we started under the Shelter and used the rainy outdoor setting as a background. The rain then stopped and we took a few nice photos around the property before they had to hide for the ceremony. The ceremony itself was enjoyable, featuring a tree tunnel that led up to the ceremony spot under the shelter. After the lovely wedding, we took some family formal photos and had a surprise short rainbow. After dinner the storm clouds cleared to allow for some enjoyable golden-hour photos. Since it was a bit bright, we adjusted the light by using a small camera aperture and produced fun sun stars that peeked out behind the sun, just enough to balance the scene. We then cut the cake, raised a toast before the formal dancing, and went out to dance in the glass house. Later on, we took some fun long-exposure starry-sky photographs!
