Patience is something every truck driver needs, but sometimes life on the road puts that patience to a test you never could have anticipated. This week, I found myself in a situation at a rest area where another driver deliberately exposed me to his bodily fluids. It's the kind of behavior that crosses every reasonable line, and an incident that could have easily turned into a much bigger confrontation. It makes the driver lucky I didn't get the numbers from his truck quickly enough to call the law. But rather than spending too much time being mad about what I couldn't control, I found myself reflecting on something bigger: How much control do we really have over the way we respond to other people? Having patience doesn't mean excusing unacceptable behavior. It doesn't mean pretending something didn't happen or that someone shouldn't be held accountable. Sometimes it simply means recognizing that allowing someone else's actions to ruin your day only gives them more power over your life. Beyond that experience, I'm wrapping up another week on the road, reflecting on the challenges of trucking, and looking forward to finally heading home for some much-needed time away from the truck. This episode of Renegade on the Run: Roadside Rants is another look at the realities of life over the road, the lessons we learn along the way, and the mindset that helps us keep moving forward. Renegade on the Run follows the experiences, challenges, and everyday realities of life as an over-the-road truck driver—from the frustrations and unexpected encounters to the moments that remind us why we keep rolling. #RenegadeOnTheRun #RoadsideRants #TruckingLife #TruckDriverVlog #LifeOnTheRoad
