WE NEED REAL HELP, NOT COMFORT | Dag Heward-Mills

He used to push back on the idea of the Holy Spirit as just 'a comforter.' Why not real help, he asks - something practical, not a handkerchief for your tears? Then he paints a picture: a dragon breathing fire right outside your door while you sit safe inside your father's house. The threat is still there, but it can't touch you. That's where he turns to Isaiah 51:11 - the redeemed coming home singing, crowned with joy, while sorrow and mourning flee away. His point lands simply: comfort isn't a lesser gift. It's the Holy Spirit meeting you exactly where change hasn't come yet.
