On 24 October 2021, my daughter IyanuOluwa passed away at 36 weeks. Today is her fifth birthday. I sat in that hospital thinking I’d be a sad person for the rest of my life. Five years on, that isn’t who I am. Joy and grief live side by side, and God did not leave me. Over those years, songs came to me in the middle of the night, mostly in Yoruba, mostly songs I didn’t know the words. Tonight I’m sharing them, and the story that sits between them. This hour isn’t only for babyloss. If you are grieving a child, a parent, a marriage, your health, or the person you used to be, it’s for you.
