Ken Wasn't Born Evil. What Changed Him? | Digimon Adventure Deep Dive 2x23

Ken’s story absolutely broke our hearts this week on My Adventures With Digimon, our Digimon Adventure 02 rewatch podcast, as we revisit Season 2, Episode 23, “Genesis of Evil.” This is one of those episodes that reminds us just how emotionally powerful Digimon can be. Through Ken’s memories, we finally begin to understand how a kindhearted child became the Digimon Emperor, and the answer is far more complicated than simply turning evil. We’re exploring Ken’s psyche, from his jealousy of his brother Sam and the guilt surrounding his death to the crushing weight of expectations, loneliness, and grief. What makes this episode so special is how it asks us to consider why people sometimes hurt others when they’re hurting themselves, without excusing the harm they’ve caused. And through Ken’s memories of Wormmon, we’re reminded that the kindness he lost might still be the very thing that saves him. This one genuinely moved us to tears. It’s a beautiful, heartbreaking exploration of guilt, forgiveness, and the difficult journey back to yourself, and one of our favorite chapters of Digimon Adventure 02 so far. 📺 WATCH MY ADVENTURES WITH DIGIMON ON YOUTUBE    • Sailor Moon’s Cosmic Power Rewind   ❤️ SUPPORT THE SHOW Patreon:   / hopefullyawesome   Become a YouTube Member:    / @hopefullyawesome   🛍️ HOPEFULLY AWESOME MERCH https://hopefullyawesome.creator-spri... 📒 SHOW NOTES AND RESOURCES Chapters 0:00 -My Adventures With Digimon - 2x23 -Genesis of Evil Review -War What Is It Good For? -Continuity -Welcome to the Party Pal -In Memoriam -Who’s That Digimon? -Traitor! -Puberty but with Super Powers -Saban Dub -Pizza Time -The Roasting of Davis -That’s Just Prime -Digimon References -The Talon Mix -Next Time on Digimon: 2x24: If I Only Had A Tail Hammer 📘 CONNECT WITH MATT AND MAGGIE Matt: https://bsky.app/profile/matt.hopeful...
