We Canceled Our Vacation. Here’s Why We Don’t Regret It

We canceled our vacation and decided to stay closer to home instead, and it completely changed the way we think about travel. After years of traveling, we started choosing more staycations, and it completely changed how we think about getting away. In this video, I share why a staycation can sometimes be better than a traditional vacation, especially if you want to save money, explore closer to home, support local businesses, and spend more quality time together. My wife introduced me to the idea of doing more staycations, and over time we started trying things I probably would never have booked before, including bubble domes, cabins, lake houses, local hotels, and short weekend escapes. One staycation in particular changed my perspective completely. We stayed at a lake house, spent time canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, sitting around campfires, and simply slowing down. We enjoyed the experience so much that it even changed how we think about future travel.
