The Honorable Elijah Muhammad was born approximately on October 7, 1897 as Elijah Robert Poole. He was the leader and teacher of the Nation of Islam from 1934 until his death in 1975. Elijah Muhammad was the teacher and mentor to Malcolm X, Minister Louis Farrakhan, Muhammad Ali, his son, Imam Warith Deen Muhammad and many others. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad built his own Black Wall Street which they don’t teach about in school. He was referred to as Dear Holy Apostle by his followers. His mission was to find his lost people in the wilderness of North America. He may have been a king without a land. But he was still a king. In March 1960 he was referred to as the most powerful Black man in America. Yet when so-called "Black History Month" rolls around you barely hear his name. What does this tells you and I? We Can't Depend on His-Story to tell Our-Story!
