We all know that ETS2 doesn’t support native DLSS. And knowing SCS, it could still take quite a while before we ever see it officially integrated, if it happens at all.
That’s where the modding community comes in. The people behind RenoDX and DLSS5-Feeder, along with other contributors, have created a way to inject DLSS 5 into games that don’t support it natively, using ReShade as part of the pipeline.
The results are, for the most part, absolutely stunning. The lighting looks better and realer than ever, vehicle reflections are incredible, and objects and vehicles finally cast beautifully soft and realistic shadows. No more pitch-black holes underneath vehicles like you often get with other lighting mods.
Colors also get a much more natural and believable look. Material lighting, especially inside the truck cabin, looks far more convincing, and vehicle paint has never looked this good. DLSS 5 honestly works wonders here. If this were integrated natively, a lot of graphics mods would probably become obsolete.
There is one important downside though. Since ETS2 has no native DLSS implementation, DLSS5-Feeder has to build a synthetic DLSS input from data that ReShade can access, including the current frame, depth information, and estimated motion vectors. Those motion vectors are not the same as having proper engine-provided motion vectors, so temporal reconstruction can occasionally get things wrong.
That can show up as smearing, ghosting, or unstable details on moving surfaces and objects, especially during camera movement or when objects move quickly across the screen. So while the results can look incredible, this injected solution still has limitations compared to a proper native DLSS implementation.
But for a first attempt, this already looks more than impressive!
Performance-wise, it runs pretty smoothly for the most part (on a RTX 5090, locked at 65fps). There are a few stutters here and there, but for an unoptimized version, it’s surprisingly stable.
At the end of the video (12:27) you will see some DLSS 5 comparisons.
