John Deere R - Delivery, Learn to Start, and First Drive

1951 John Deere R. We bought this R from a fellow in south-central Idaho. His father had purchased it about 20 years prior to that from a family down in Arizona. With the "rice special" style tires, it has a unique look. Does anyone recognize this machine? Do you know anything about its history? Please comment below.
