Am I Distracted? | Alex Howell | Luke 10: 38-42

Ever feel like you're busy doing good things but running on empty? Quick to snap at the people you love most? Jesus has a word for that. In week 2 of Don't Drink the Poison, Pastor Alex walks through Luke 10:38-42, where Martha is distracted with much serving while her sister Mary sits at Jesus' feet. Martha wasn't doing anything wrong. Serving is good. But anything that takes our eyes off Jesus can become a bad thing. Pastor Alex shows three effects of distraction we see in Martha (frustration, assumption, and anxiousness) and invites us to choose what Jesus calls the good portion: time with Him, unhurried and undistracted. Scripture: Luke 10:38-42 (ESV) Speaker: Pastor Alex Series: Don't Drink the Poison, week 2 THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE Spend time with Jesus more days than not: four days a week, 20 to 30 minutes, phone in the other room, Bible open. Then read 1 Corinthians 13 and notice what love looks like.
