Their son, Tal Bachman, scored a hit in 1999 called “She’s So High” The Guess Who was originally called Chad Allan & the Expressions and charted several singles in Canada, and also one international hit cover of “Shakin’ All Over” in 1965. Their American label, Quality Records, disguised the single by crediting it to The Guess Who?, as a publicity stunt to generate speculation that it was by a more famous British Invasion band working incognito. Even after revealing the true name of the band, DJ’s continued to refer to them as The Guess Who. Other hits you may remember: Share the Land, No Time, Laughing, Undun, No Sugar Tonite/New Mother Nature and of course the mega hit “American Woman” Bachman played a final show with the band and then quit in May 1970; his relations with Burton Cummings had deteriorated and his recent conversion to Mormonism caused dissatisfaction with the band's rock n' roll lifestyle. Bachman later formed the successful hard rock band Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Lineup: Vocals/Keys: Burton Cummings Guitar: Randy Bachman Bassist: Jim Kale Drums: Garry Peterson
