Can I get this old postwar whistle tender to whistle again?

One of my latest train show finds was this 6654W tin whistle tender. I have been wanting one of these for a while and I got it this one for a couple of bucks. I really like these older ones because of the cast metal whistle box instead of the plastic ones the later postwar tenders have. I find these older versions to be MUCH louder and clearer.
