Koi may look simple, but they are actually quite difficult to paint. Painting them in monochrome ink using the three-tone ink technique can be surprisingly challenging. This video introduces an approach for those moments when you want to paint something that looks nice fairly quickly. The method is to start by painting the scales using ryō-guma. It is thick, doesn't bleed easily, and is very easy to paint on. https://amzn.to/4dScTr2 練習用の紙は墨運堂の紙を使っています。 滲みにくく、厚みは普通で、練習用におすすめです。 For practice, I use paper from Bokundo. It’s bleed-resistant, has a standard thickness, and I highly recommend it for beginners. https://amzn.to/4ofcbZL 顔料は呉竹のものを使っています。 こちらのセットは、赤や緑などよく使う色が複数入っており非常におすすめです。 例えば、赤は紅梅・紅・朱・臙脂で全く違うニュアンスの表現ができます。 I use Kuretake pigments. This set is highly recommended as it contains multiple shades of essential colors like red and green.
