This was to have been the debut day for my YouTube channel focused on Appleby, and it was the sad death of Fireman Mike Middleton on the footplate shortly after I'd filmed him at work at Appleby station that left me feeling that I couldn't rise to the occasion and thus I took my first tentative steps on YouTube a little later. A year on I have reassessed my recordings and feel able to share them sympathetically. I have included all my footage of the water stop at Appleby. The first season of the Staycation Express featured prominently on this day, with The Dalesman following the Express down to Appleby and the Express following The Dalesman up to Hellifield. Thus, besides extended coverage of both legs of The Dalesman, four legs of the Staycation Express also feature.
