An interactive session with Mr. Anuj ( Executive Engineer) as a part of our MDT PBL

Turning classroom concepts into real world perspectives! Our visit to THDC India Limited was an opportunity to look beyond textbooks and understand the operational challenges of the hydropower sector firsthand. As part of our THDC 2.0: Smart Hydro Risk and Reservoir Decision Support System project, we explored how digital technologies can help address challenges such as sediment accumulation, extreme rainfall, flash floods, and reservoir management. Our interaction with Mr. Anuj Kumar, Executive Engineer at UPPCL gave us valuable insights into the importance of reliable data, practical field conditions, and engineering judgement when designing digital solutions. One key takeaway from our discussion was that digital transformation is not simply about adopting new technology. It is about connecting data, processes, and people to enable better informed decisions. As we continue developing our proposed solution, we are learning to approach innovation with both ambition and practicality, ensuring that our ideas address real operational needs.
