Eucalyptus regnans grows in temperate rainforests at 43° South latitude at elevations of about 1000' above sea level in Tasmania. It can reach heights of 336' (102 meters). It also grows in Southern Victoria, where the tallest recorded individual of the species was recorded at 120 meters, after it was cut down in the 1940s.
