Abandoned for 30 years: watch my parents restore a 100-year-old mud house in northern Iran with forest clay, straw, gypsum and their own hands. No talking, just real village life. 🌿
After three decades of silence, my parents, both 60 years old, stepped into my grandfather's old village house in the Hyrcanian Forest region of Iran. The house had been empty for 30 years and had turned into a storage room, with cracked walls, cobwebs, and even a baby snake living inside. In this 32-minute silent village vlog, we clean it, repair it and bring it back to life using traditional methods.
You will see:
🏡 How to make kah-gel, the traditional clay and straw plaster, from yellow forest soil
🔥 How a wall fireplace is built and lined with gypsum and clay, before the freezing northern winter
🎨 Painting the old house blue, a calming color for homes in northern Iran
🍇 Making natural wild barberry juice by hand, the old way
🍆 Eggplants and figs from my parents' own garden
🫖 Tea by the first fire in the new fireplace
No talking, no music overload. Only the real sounds of village life: clay, fire, wind, and hands at work.
