You are about to make a choice you will regret, and nothing in your head will warn you. Psychology has measured four invisible magnets that bend your inner compass: the first number you hear (anchoring, 1974), the sunny schedule (the planning fallacy, 1994), the receipt you cannot get back (sunk cost, 1985) and the last minute that rewrites your memory (peak-end, 1993). Each comes with one real experiment, one question to ask before a decision that matters, and one honest cost. Most studies were small lab samples of students, the market stall, boss and concert scenes are invented illustrations, and the four questions are our own application, not a tested method. This is not therapy, financial or medical advice. 0:00 Why you regret 1:39 Magnet 1: The first number 2:57 Magnet 2: The sunny schedule 4:38 Magnet 3: The receipt 6:28 Magnet 4: The last minute 8:17 The compass check 8:41 The price 9:36 Choose forwards Which magnet pulled you hardest: the first number, the sunny schedule, the receipt or the last minute? #psychology #decisionmaking #cognitivebias
