Polymer Clay Lemon Meringue Pie

Welcome back! Today's Polymer Clay Edition project is another bottle cap pie - well two but both lemon meringue! One of my favourite pies in the actually edible food world and as it turns out one of my favourite miniature food makes to date. I have included the list of materials that I use in this video for you and also some information about baking polymer clay - if you are seriously getting in to using this craft medium then read the notes on using ovens. Materials used in this project: Sculpey PRIMO polymer clay in Ecru, Translucent, Zinc Yellow, White Sculpey Souffle polymer clay in Canary Yellow Sculpey Liquid Clay in White Chalk pastels in browns and oranges Toaster oven Bottle caps Craft knife Plastic palette knife Pastry rolling pin Glass chopping board Craft blades Plastic ball tool NOTE: I use a toaster oven to bake my clay projects in exclusively and never use my conventional oven for the following reasons: Toxic Fumes from Burning: Unburned polymer clay is generally safe, but if it overheats or scorches, it releases hazardous hydrogen chloride gas that irritates the eyes, nose, and throat. Residue on Food Surfaces: Volatile plasticizers and chemical residues can coat the interior of the oven and potentially contaminate food baked later. Inaccurate Temperature Control: Conventional ovens often have hot spots or swing past the target temperature, making it easy to accidentally burn the plastic.
